733 Digital Control

The 733 Digital Control manages and controls reciprocating engines (gas, diesel, or dual fuel) used in power generation, marine propulsion, locomotive and industrial engine, and process markets. The 733 has been specifically designed to enable it to be mounted directly on the engine, withstanding the high temperature and vibration environment. The 733 can also be mounted inside control cabinets if required. The 733 is available as a standalone speed control with functions and configuration similar to other Woodward digital controls such as 723 (including plug-and-play network connectivity to the Woodward ProAct™ Digital Actuator family for an all-electric governing solution that can be engine mounted), and it is available as the main control unit within an engine management system. The control is designed for network connectivity to other Woodward or customer-selected devices, such as I/O modules (remote or integrated within the 733 package), actuators, ignition controls, air/exhaust and fuel flow control valves, power management controls, and EFI solenoid drivers. It may be programmed to perform all engine functions such as speed, air and fuel control, monitoring, alarms, engine protection and sequencing.

723

The 723 Digital Control governs reciprocating engines (gas, diesel, or dual fuel) used in power generation, marine propulsion, and gas compression/distribution. The control may also be used in cogeneration, power transmission/distribution, process management, pipeline pump stations, utility power generation, emergency standby power, and remote control station operation.

721

The 721 Digital Control can share load between multiple engines driving a common mechanical or electrical load. It offers automatic bumpless transfer of load between engines and adjustable load and unload ramp rates. The control also provides a limiter to prevent engine overfueling or flooding during start-up. The 721 control governs gas or diesel reciprocating engines driving generators through flexible couplings. Using inputs from both the engine and generator sides of the coupling, the 721 control filters out torsionals in the speed signals, thus improving transient performance without sacrificing steady-state stability.

In-Pulse(TM)

The In-Pulse(TM) system has been developed to control a range of Woodward electrical low-pressure gas admission valves and electric-hydraulic high-pressure rail valves. These valves provide a means of injecting fuel or other fluids into engines operating within a speed range of 1 to 2100 rpm (range depends on the valve being driven). Plate type solenoid operated gas admission valves (SOGAVs) are suitable for in-manifold injection only, whereas the rail valve provides actuation of both in-cylinder and in-manifold type injection devices.

In-Pulse(TM) II

The In-Pulse(TM) II fuel injection control manages and controls electronically fuel injected (EFI) reciprocating engines (gas, diesel, or dual fuel) used in power generation, marine propulsion, locomotive and industrial engine, and process markets. The In-Pulse II manages the core fuel system and injection events for many EFI fuel systems, including electronic unit injectors and pumps (EUI/EUP), common rail systems (C-R), SOGAV™ Solenoid Operated Gas Admission Valves, micro pilot injection systems, and electronic rail valves (ERV). The In-Pulse II can mount directly on the engine, withstanding the high temperature and vibration environment. The In-Pulse II can also be mounted inside nearby control cabinets if required.

2301A Speed Control

The 2301A Speed Control controls the speed or load of diesel or gas engines, or steam or gas turbines. The unit provides control in the isochronous mode, with droop available through an externally wired potentiometer. The isochronous mode is used for constant speed of the controlled prime mover as long as it is able to provide power to satisfy the load.

2301A Load Sharing and Speed Control

The 2301A Load Sharing and Speed Control with temperature Limiting or Process Limiting is used in electric generator systems for which load sharing is desired. It can be used with diesel or gas engines, or steam or gas turbines, and is compatible with all Woodward electronic controls.

2301D Digital Load Sharing and Speed Control

The 2301D Digital Load Sharing and Speed Control is used in electric generator systems for which load sharing is desired. It can be used with diesel or gas engines, or steam or gas turbines and is compatible with all Woodward electronic controls. This control utilizes a 376 processor based speed control and provides a single serial port for PC communications. The digital design eliminates the use of potentiometers for tuning and load control.

SG 2D Digital Speed Governor

The SG 2D is designed as a universal digital speed governor for combustion engines. It is configured via a PC using a direct configuration cable (DPC) and a PC software tool. Tuning of the SG 2D can also be carried out with the control's pushbuttons and four-digit display. The SG 2D is designed to drive a variety of electric actuators such as solenoid style (rotary or linear) or a smart actuator via a PWM control signal. The SG 2D has adjustable overspeed protection, adjustable maximum fuel limit, and adjustable actuator droop.

IKD 1 Digital I/O Expansion Board

The IKD 1 is an 'Intelligent Terminal' or 'Extension Board'. It allows an additional 8 discrete inputs and 8 relay outputs to be connected, via CAN bus, to other Woodward products such as the GCP-30 Series controller. Each input can be assigned a name, alarm class, NO/NC configuration and time delay. The name and class are then displayed on the digital readout panel on the controller face. The IKD 1 output relays are controlled over the CAN bus connection from the main controller. Configuration for the IKD 1 is also accomplished from the main controller by a code entered via the controllers relay manager.

Watch Window Standard/Professional PC Software

Watch Window software is a service tool designed for technicians and engineers applying or maintaining Woodward control systems. It replaces many of the meters and screwdrivers of yesterday. Three versions meet varying control and customer needs (Watch Window Standard for 'standard' controls, Watch Window Professional for custom controls needing serial connectivity, and Watch Window II Professional for custom controls needing Ethernet connectivity.

GAP™ Graphical Application Programmer

Woodward's Graphical Application Programmer (GAP™) is a Windows based software program that allows controls engineers to create block format application programs for a number of Woodward control systems. Once the control logic is entered using the program's graphical programming environment, the GAP software compiler function generates code that runs in the control. GAP software blocks are written in C code, which is a transportable language, allowing it to be used on many different hardware platforms. Because of this feature, the same control logic software that has been used and proven in thousands of controls is available for use in the creation of future controllers, without introducing system bugs.
