The Woodward ProTech TPS is a safety PLC with integrated overspeed protection, certified to IEC 61508 SIL-3. It replaces dedicated mechanical overspeed trip devices with a certified electronic safety system for any size steam, gas, or hydro turbine, or other rotating equipment. Its triple modular redundant architecture and 2-out-of-3 voting logic ensure no single-point failure affects system availability, making it the standard for API 670 compliant turbomachinery safety in petrochemical and power generation facilities.
