We are looking for a dependable Shipping & Receiving Clerk to verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and prepare items for shipment by performing the below responsibilities. Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Level: Full and/or Part Time

Pay: Commensurate with experience

Location: Corporate office, Houston, TX

Definition: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk’s job definition is to safely prepare items for shipment, and accurately keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments.

Duties | Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect and distribute incoming materials
  • Report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement, and record-keeping purposes
  • Route items to departments
  • Assemble orders and prepare goods for shipment
  • Pack items for safe shipment and inspect pre-packed items for safe shipment
  • Record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability
  • Prepare shipping documents for foreign and domestic shipments, and interface with the shippers to initiate the shipments
  • Ensure compliance with all import/export regulations
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies

Qualifications | Education Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Forklift Certified preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Dependable and timely
  • Detail orientated
  • Well organized
  • Team player
  • Past experience shipping with UPS / FedEx  / DHL preferred
  • Past experience with international shipping a plus
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e. MS Office, including Outlook and OneNote)
  • Microsoft Great Plains a plus
  • Lift and manage packages up to 70 lbs
  • Accomplish some light assembly duties
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Multi-task and effectively handle competing priorities
  • Complete tasks and resolve problems timely and effectively
  • Take direction, write things down, ask questions, and learn new things

Work Hours | Conditions

  • Monday-Friday, 8am – 5pm. Minimal call-outs when necessary
  • Shop environment with moderate noise level
  • Work under pressure to meet deadline and maintain quality
